Edgemoor Veterinary Practice – providing high quality veterinary care throughout Ryedale and beyond

Kim Storey

I have lived in this area all my life, having been born and raised in Kirkbymoorside. We always had dogs and cats in our family but now have a Ladrador called Neo and a Weimeraner called Reggie. I joined Edgemoor in 2015, it seemed only natural for me to work in a place that cares so much for pets. I really love what we do here for pets and their owners. When not working, I like to go out for rides out on our motorbike or take the family and dogs camping.

I’m originally from Manchester – a lovely city but the views cannot compete with the countryside we have here. I often make the most of the moors by taking my family out for long walks (much to their disgust!), though my little terrier cross, Willow never seems to complain. I started working at here in late 2015 – I had always wanted to work at a vets and I’ve found a fantastic team to work with here at Edgemoor.

Returning to my home town of Pickering, after 14 years in London, signalled a change of career from writing soap operas to dealing with the daily dramas of the reception desk. When not at work, I enjoy walking my patterdale terrier, reading, gardening, cooking, car-booting and following the intrepid antics of my Russian tortoise, Brian.

When I was a child, my father and I used to breed Greyhounds in my home city of Leeds. We also kept chickens, ducks and bees. I have always loved animals so when an opportunity came up to work with a race horse vet, I took it without second thought and have never wanted to do anything else. 3 and a half years ago I moved to Edgemoor to work with the lovely team here. I now have 2 dogs who keep me busy at home. I am also an enthusiastic supporter of road cycle racing and rugby. My partner and I travel as much as possible, and love to eat out.
